2013 Reading Challenge

I am a member of this really awesome website called Goodreads for quite a while now I actually signed up last 2009 but did not take it “seriously” till last quarter last year. I was able to finish 5 books before the year ended and with 2013 I was shooting for 25 books and accdg. to the reading widget I am 2 books or 9% behind schedule. Now would you look at that? LOL
Like the scatterbrain that I am my reading selection has been all over the place lately … I keep starting new books every week without ever finishing them and I gotta stop otherwise I would end up not finishing one by the time the year ends. Here are the books I have started … somewhat:
- Botchan by Natsume Soseki
- Kokoro by Natsume Soseki
- Tsuki no Kage, Kage no Umi by Fuyumi Ono
- The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss
- A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
- Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
- The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoffman
- Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong
- The Nibelungenlied
and last but not the least The Nibelungenlied … I know my reading selections are not the easiest to finish especially the last three books. Actually I’ve read The Nibelungenlied back in college as an assignment in my World Lit class but I have forgotten what it was about and I’m trying to refresh my memory.
I commented on a friend of mine who is also doing the challenge at how fast she is … her goal is about 50 books and she has read 12 already. I actually envy her dedication. I gotta keep up if I want to meet my own challenge.
